In the course of its evolution, the field of print art has adapted constantly to new technological advances. Likewise, printmakers are always striving to take advantage of the new technological capabilities that are available. Their work is not only a search for artistic impact, but also demonstrates a great desire to master the medium. It can be said that in the last decades, the digital age has come into the print art, and digital printmaking have a leading role (CGD – Computer-generated design) – the print art created entirely digitally.
Ex libris is a specific genre in printmaking art, featuring small-format art piece, which identify the author of a book. The phrase comes from the Latin expression “ex libris”, which literally means “through the books of”.
Ex Libris, the exhibition, includes 6 artists: Violeta Apostolova, Snezhina Bisserova, Elisaveta Vacheva, Krassimira Drenska, Polina Petrova, and Tsveta Petrova, who create ex libris designs using a computer. The artists, while diverse in their artistic approach, present a collection of works both in the ex libris genre, and in the medium of digital printmaking art..
